David Roseby

David Roseby has and continues to invest his heart and soul in the Rotary Club of Loganholme.

David was amongst those few Beenleigh Rotarians who saw the need for the Loganholme Club - but David also actively worked for the Club's formation and joined it as a Charter member.

Since those early days, only a few projects would have been undertaken by the Club that did not somehow either involve David as an instigator or his physical support in their implementation.

David has his very own way of sometimes gently suggesting to the Club that a particular project needs Club support ……. Other times (most times ? ) he stands up at a Club meeting and "let's 'em have it !" - he calls upon the Club to meet a crying need that he perceives needs attention and action .

When on the Rotary job, he is instantly recognisable by his distinctive uniform and aroma . His karki work gear .. complete with bulging belt and terry toweling hat … and his unmistakable smelly pipe set firmly in his jaw adds " incense " to every occasion.

During his Rotary life, David has often times kept momentos and records of the Club's exploits. He does this because it is his joy to do so ..and he also has a keen sense of history . David possesses the ability from time to time to remind and challenge the Club of where we have been and where we need to go.

It has been his dream for many years to one day produce a Club history, thus David has undertaken the role of Club Historian for many years … and at last here it is!

But it must be remembered that in many instances the physical records, the photographs and the memories themselves come from David alone. He has been the faithful custodian .. hoarding records, minutes and memories for this occasion and we thank him for his constant dedication over all the years .

David and Sue his wife and others .. notably Susan Dennings , Noel Ambler and Melissa …… have also poured through this sizable collection, and that of others, to construct a reliable and worthy Club history . This task has been a huge, involved and painstaking undertaking involving over 1000 's of hours intensive and demanding toil. Again, we thank David and the team for their dedicated work.

To conclude, David Roseby has not been the sole fulcrum upon which the Rotary Club of Loganholme has turned over its last 20 years .. but out of the 100 plus members of the Club during these years his contribution has been selected by his peers as being one of vital significance … and justly deserving his selection as President of the Club and his recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow .

The Rotary Club of Loganholme and the community it serves join together to thank David for all his efforts over the years … particularly in this instance, in making it possible to produce and publish this history of service of the Rotary Club of Loganholme.
