BRIEF OUTLINE OF ROTARY ROLE:
I am a new member to Rotary having been inducted in August 2001. This year I was elected to the Board of Management at Loganholme Rotary as the Community Services Director. After having completed my first 12 months I am gradually becoming aware of and Iam continually being impressed by all the wonderful programs that Rotary are a part of, both here in Australia and overseas.

VOCATION:
I have been a Police Officer for almost forever and it would be indecent to say just how many years. I am currently a Sergeant at Crime Stoppers doing fantastic work with the community in cleaning up crime through anonymous information. Currently one in 4 reports submitted for investigation are resulting in persons being arrested. Over $1 million worth of drugs are being confiscated each month and Iam still happy to go to work.

SPECIAL INTERESTS:
I have been a voluntary member of the Kingston Youth Achievers known as the ASAP Program since its inception in 1990. The ASAP program is a community based mentor program for year 10 students at Kingston High School. Every year since inception, 25 students have participated in the program. The program is a life skills program providing students with confidence, self esteem and the skills necessary to obtain part time employment. Mentors from Loganholme Rotary, volunteer their time each fortnight to share their time and skills with the students to develop a relationship with them. The mentors assist in the preparation of a resume and interviewing techniques so that they can obtain part time employment, thus assisting them to be self sufficient Australian citizens.
The program has been outstandingly successful which is reflected in the positions of responsibility the students have assumed in Year 12. Every year for the last 7 years, School Captains, Vice School Captains and Senior Leaders have predominately come from the ASAP program. The success of the ASAP program has been incorporated into other programs namely Youth Crime Stoppers which deals with issues of Alcohol, Drugs, Youth Violence, Personal Responsibility and Protective Behaviours. All of these issues are dealt with in the ASAP program.

OTHER DETAILS OF INTEREST:
I am a country girl where women are women and men know it . (thought I would share that with you)
My parents empowered me to achieve anything because they Never told me I couldn't do something. Thus I grew up thinking I could do whatever I want ... and the hard thing is to work out just what is it I want to do next .... (I think the argument was too great for them if they tried to stop me on my next escapade so they let me go about my business .
SPECIAL INTERESTS:
Anything to do with new age thinking and being. I am learning about crystals at the moment and I am excited as I learn more about these wonderful stones of energy.
